Warning, this guide is adressed to Shadow Windows app users only.

 

If you encounter the following error message : "An antivirus or insufficient rights prevent you from launching your Shadow. Please try the following guide to solve this issue.". This mean that you probably have an antivirus considering your Shadow app as a threat and blocking the possibility to launch it for this reason or that you don't have the good rights to launch the application.

In the case where the antivirus is blocking the Shadow app to start, you need to whitelist the application (telling your antivirus that it is not a threat)

  • Each antivirus has his own method to whitelist an application. You need to search how to do it for your own antivirus on google.

In the case where you do not have the rights to launch the app on your computer you have few options depending where your computer is

  • If you are on a network ruled by a network administrator, you need to contact him to ask for the permission to launch the app when you want. (So he can grant you the rights to do it)
  • If you are on a personnal computer you should already have the admin rights (you can still right click on the app and choose "Launch as an administrator") if it's the first session ever created on the computer. If this is not your computer and you are on a Guest session, you need to ask the computer owner to give you the rights to execute the app.
