This error message prevents you from using two sessions at the same time. Only one Shadow session per account can be active at the same time.
If you encounter this message after an unexpected shutdown of your Shadow (e.g. rebooting, tearing of your Ethernet cable or your computer), it is because the application is still running the processes of your local computer even if you do not see it in the Windows task bar or programs.
How to fix it
- Open the Task Manager by using Windows Search or pressing the key combination Ctrl + Alt + Del.
- In the Processes tab, close all Shadow processes. Both in Applications and Processes in the background.
- For security purposes, Restart Windows.
